Discover the calm in every storm
About Me
Corrie Cunningham
I'm an Oregon native and have been working as a counselor in the area since 2014. I'm licensed in both Oregon and Washington. If I'm not sitting and listening to my clients' stories, I'm often reading books or watching movies about other human stories, whether real or fictionalized. Embracing the human experience in its joy and pain is something that constantly intrigues and excites me.
I am motivated to help individuals gain understanding in their own story and reach their full potential. I use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach that mainly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. (Although I also love Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Understanding what you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing is the first step to untangling pain and confusion. I focus on increasing awareness as well as exploring coping skills. I believe in the goal of decreasing any avoidable suffering, and helping increase resiliency for the unavoidable stress and pain in life.
About Therapy
Are you feeling depressed or anxious? Are you overwhelmed by past trauma or struggling with current stressors? Or maybe you don't know what you are feeling. Give me a call and let's see if therapy would be helpful for you.
Individual Therapy
I welcome individual clients 18 and older. I have training and experience working with depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, trauma, bipolar, as well as people struggling with loss, identity, difficult relationships, or life stressors.
Virtual Session
The pandemic has changed therapy for the good. I offer telehealth to meet a variety of needs. We can talk about the pros and cons of face-to-face and virtual sessions.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
